The Signals tab is an inbox. New signals arrive after each monitor check, and you work through them: reply to the good ones, save the authors you want, and clear the rest.
The inbox
The tabs, each with a count:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| New | Signals you haven't acted on |
| Needs approval | New signals auto-comment left for you to post by hand (shown while auto-comment is on, or when any are waiting) |
| Commented | Signals you commented on from filtrat |
| Not relevant | Signals you cleared |
| All | Everything |
At the top, pick an ICP or type in Search signals to find posts by their text, author or headline. Open Filters to narrow it down by monitor, period and signal type, or to press ICP authors only. New since your last visit, also under Filters, shows only what arrived since you last opened Signals in this browser. When new signals arrive while you're on the page, a button N new signals · Show appears.
Comment & like
Each new signal that's a post has a comment box, ✦ Comment · posted from name's LinkedIn account, with a draft written for you. Edit it, then press Comment & like. filtrat posts your comment under the post and likes it, from your LinkedIn account. Nothing is posted until you press the button.
- Write another drafts a new comment. Draft a comment writes one when the box is empty.
- Comments follow your company profile's Comments that got replies and Facts you can share in Targeting. Without facts, comments never claim your own experience.
- If the author was contacted through another signal recently, a note warns you, for example that a second comment this week may feel pushy.
Commenting is free.
Comments go out from your real LinkedIn account. When an account has posted many comments in a day, the inbox shows how many and the number we suggest for account safety. You can keep going, but spreading comments over the day is safer.
Auto-comment
Turn on Auto-comment at the top of the Signals tab to let filtrat post the drafted comments for you, one at a time, from the client's LinkedIn account. Signals that need a human look go to Needs approval instead, and turning it off cancels the scheduled comments. See Auto-comment on signals.
Message the author
After you comment, the signal moves to Commented and shows a Suggested DM · send manually on LinkedIn. Press Copy DM, send it from LinkedIn, then tick DM sent so you know where you stand. filtrat doesn't send DMs for you.
Save the author or the people
- Add to list opens a window where you pick who to add from the post (its author, the people who commented, the people who liked it, or everyone) and the list (an existing one, or a new one you name). The author is added straight away with the post and the signal attached, free. Commenters and likers are captured in the background: 10 credits per profile found, and under Advanced you can cap how many and find their emails. It's there on commented and dismissed signals too.
- Monitor 7 days (on a monitor's posts) watches the post and saves new people who engage. See Watch a post.
To save authors automatically, set it on the monitor. See Save post authors to a list.
Not relevant
Press Not relevant to clear a signal from New. It's kept on the Not relevant tab, and Move back to New brings it back.
Signals that aren't posts
Some signals, such as job posts, can't be commented on. They show This signal isn't a post, so filtrat can't comment on it, with Add to list and Not relevant.
If commenting is paused
If your LinkedIn account needs reconnecting, the inbox shows one notice with Reconnect LinkedIn, and commenting is paused until then. See Reconnect an expired session.
